The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with locating a man wanted in a Break and Enter investigation.
Between Thursday, January 15, 2026, and Thursday, April 16, 2026, police responded to five separate Break and Enter calls throughout the city of Toronto.
It is alleged that:
- on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at approximately 5:33 a.m., the suspect forced entry into an apartment building in the Cosburn Avenue and Pape Avenue area
- once inside, the suspect went to the storage locker area
- the suspect forced entry to a number of storage lockers, stealing numerous personal items
- the suspect then fled the scene
It is further alleged that:
- on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at approximately 11:05 p.m., the suspect forced entry into a residence in the Avenue Road and St. Clair Avenue West area
- the suspect rummaged around the residence
- the victim saw the suspect inside the residence
- the suspect then fled the scene
- nothing was stolen at this time
It is further alleged that:
- on Wednesday, January 25, 2026, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the suspect gained entry into an apartment building in the Broadview Avenue and Danforth Avenue area
- once inside, the suspect entered a unit
- once inside, the suspect rummaged around
- the victim was home sleeping at the time, and woke up
- the victim yelled at the suspect, who then fled the scene
- a number of personal items were stolen
It is further alleged that:
- on Friday, March 13, 2026, at approximately 11 a.m., the suspect gained entry into an apartment building in the Adelaide Street East and George Street area
- once inside, the suspect entered two separate units inside the building
- the suspect stole money and personal items
- the suspect then fled the scene
It is further alleged that:
- on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the suspect forced entry into an apartment building in the King Street East and Princess Street area
- once inside the building, he then forced entry into a unit
- the victim was home sleeping at the time, and woke up
- the suspect heard the victim in the unit and fled the scene
- nothing was stolen at this time
Mark Hardy, 59, of Toronto, is wanted for:
- 18 counts Break and Enter
- four counts Possess Break-In Instruments
- five counts Disguise with Intent
- two counts Theft Under $5000
The man is described as 5’10”, 200 lbs., medium build, bald, clean shaven and green eyes.
