On Wednesday, April 17, 2026, Melvin Brown was released from prison at the conclusion of his sentence. In 2014, Mr. Brown was found to be a Long-Term Offender, and was subject to a Long-Term Supervision Order until 2019. Mr. Brown was subsequently convicted in 2023 of Assault, Utter Threat to Cause Death/Harm, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Sexual Interference Against a Person Under 16 x 2, and Assault– Choking.
Upon his release, Melvin Brown will be subject to two Probation Orders – one for a period of two years and one for a period of 18 months.

While on Probation, Mr. Brown will be subject to numerous conditions, including:
- Not to contact the victims of the above offences
- To report regularly to a Probation Officer
- To report any change in address, employment, or occupation to his Probation Officer
- Attend and actively participate in treatment programs, as directed by his Probation Officer
The Toronto Police Service is notifying the public about this offender because of his demonstrated risk to the community, including children.
