(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Shortly before 1:00 p.m. Huron Count Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received notification of a train derailment that had just taken place at the southern edge of Clinton.
Police have since learned nine westbound Goderich-Exeter Railway containers left the tracks near the intersection of Bayfield Road (County 13) & King Street in Clinton.
The goods being transported are not dangerous goods and all of the cars remained upright.
Access to and from Clinton via Bayfield Road (County 13) & Devon Street is not possible at this time.
Railway crews are expected to have the railways cars back on the track in approximately 2 hours.
Full access to the roadway will resume at that time.
