(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – An individual is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.
On March 22, 2026, just after 9:05 p.m., while conducting general patrol, a member of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Lakeshore Road, near Army Camp Road, after the vehicle nearly struck the police vehicle head-on.
As a result of the investigation, Ashley KOHUT, 44-year-old of South Huron, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia on April 21, 2026.
