Special weather statement in effect for:
Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County
Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County
Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County
A developing low pressure system over Kansas will track towards Southern Ontario in the coming days.
Precipitation associated with this system is expected to reach areas southwest of a line from Wingham-Blyth-Northern Huron County to Hamilton near noon Thursday and then spread into rest of the regions late Thursday afternoon. It will likely begin as snow mixed with rain, then change over to rain by Thursday evening. Periods of rain will then continue through much of Friday before tapering off Friday night. Total rainfall amounts in the 15 to 25 mm range are possible.
Risk of freezing rain is also possibly late Thursday before the mixed precipitation changes to rain.
Travel may become hazardous due to the freezing rain on Thursday night.
