(WEST PERTH, ON) – On Thursday March 23, 2017, at approximately 1:50 p.m., a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a blue Chevrolet pick-up traveling eastbound on Line 32 in the Municipality of West Perth at a high rate of speed. The officer corroborated his visual observations of the approaching vehicle with a RADAR device and confirmed the speed of the racing car at a speed in excess of 50km/h over the posted 80 km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was subsequently charged.
Jim-Bob WARD, 39 years of age, from Central Huron has been charged with performing a stunt – excessive speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Stratford Provincial offences court on May 23, 2017.
He received a 7 day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was seized for 7 days.
