On March 31, 2017, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Drugs and Firearms Branch arrested two Cambridge males, aged 30 and 31, as part of an ongoing fentanyl trafficking investigation within Waterloo Region. Officers seized quantities of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and marihuana. A Search Warrant was subsequently executed at a Cambridge residence on Nutcracker Street which resulted in the seizure of counterfeit prescription tablets believed to be fentanyl with an estimated street value in excess of $75,000.00. Investigators also seized a 2016 Chevrolet Truck. Both males were held for bail hearings facing numerous Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Charges.
