(HOWICK, ON) – A 38-year-old driver is facing a Possession of Marihuana charge following a traffic stop that took place last week.
Just before 11:00 p.m. on June 23, 2017 a Kia Sportage entered into a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint in the village of Belmore on Belmore Line. The driver identified himself and while speaking with the driver the officer noted the smell of marihuana coming from inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was conducted resulting in officers locating a significant quantity of marihuana inside the vehicle. As a result, 38-year-old Steven FITTON from Kitchener has been charged with Possession of Cannabis Marihuana. He now has a court date scheduled for August 14, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
