(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers including members from the Huron OPP Street Crimes Unit are investigating a recent theft of copper wire taken from a Hydro One substation located in Vanastra.
Sometime over the weekend suspect(s) cut away a portion of the security fence and accessed into the substation. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a wheel barrow sized load of copper wire from a scrap bin.
An estimated dollar value of the stolen wire is not available at this time.
