(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received numerous complaints regarding unlocked vehicles being entered overnight August 26-August 27, 2017. The suspects conducted several vehicle entries in the Town of Mount Forest surrounding the Ayrshire Street area as well as the Albert Street area. The suspects appeared to target cash and loose change and removed identification and credit cards from vehicles and threw those items in nearby ditches and front lawns.
A 15-year-old male from Mount Forest has been charged with:
Theft under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code(C.C.)
Mischief to Property contrary to the C.C.
Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the C.C.
Resist Peace Officer contrary to the C.C.
Escape lawful custody contrary to the C.C.
OPP are looking for an adult male who is also a suspect in these events.
A second male youth was identified and has been diverted according to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
