(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On September 11, 2017 at approximately 9:45 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 14, near Sideroad 2, Township of Wellington North. The officer observed a male driving a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
40-year-old William HYMERS of Southgate has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on November 1, 2017.His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
