Counterfeit Money Leads To Meth Bust – 24 Year Old Arrested

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Thursday, September 14, 2017, members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit and uniform division as a result of an ongoing investigation into counterfeit USA currency made an arrest.

24-year-old Gerhard BRAUN of the Township of Perth East was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Possession of a Schedule I substance-methamphetamine

Possession of counterfeit money (USA $100 Bills)

Fail to comply with recognizance

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00

Fail to comply with probation order

BRAUN was held for a bail hearing and has been released on a Recognizance.

The arrest resulted in the seizure of pre-paid credit cards, drugs and drug paraphernalia and counterfeit bills.
