Drunk Driver In Burning Vehicle Arrested – Name Released

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On October 1, 2017 at approximately 1:18 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Grey Road 1 near Maple Ridge Road in the Township of Georgian Bluffs which resulted in the arrest of an impaired driver.

The vehicle, a 2012 Hyundai TUC, left the roadway and struck a road sign before going into the ditch where it caught fire. The Inter-Township Fire Department assisted at the scene. The lone driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision. He was transported to hospital where he was treated and released.

26-year old Steven TRAYES of Cambridge was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system.

He is scheduled to appear in Court in Owen Sound on October 19, 2017.
