(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On Monday November 20, 2017 at approximately 8:00 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 18, near Salem. The officer observed a female driving a 2013 Volkswagen sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 150 km/h, 70 km/h over the posted limit.
20-year-old Erica Mae JOHNSTON of Elora has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on January 3, 2018.Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
