On the morning of January 6, 2018 members of the Owen Sound Police Service responded to a report of an assault in the 900 block of 2 nd Avenue East. Police arrived and an investigation determined that the accused approached a male demanding money while brandishing a knife. After unsuccessfully obtaining money, the accused approached a second male victim and continued his assaultive and threatening behaviour. The second male was stabbed multiple times and suffered serious injuries. This victim received treatment in hospital and is currently recovering from his injuries.
A 27 year old male of no fixed address was immediately identified, located and arrested by police. The male is currently in the custody of the Owen Sound Police Service pending a Bail Hearing. The accused is charged with the following offences;
Attempted Murder
Robbery While Armed with an Offensive Weapon
Aggravated Assault
Assault with a Weapon
Breach of Probation Order (4 Counts)
