(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On January 10, 2018 at approximately 5:24 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence on Southgate Road 10 in the Township of Southgate in response to a threats complaint.
Investigation revealed that in the afternoon of January 9th, the victim was watching television when his brother entered the room holding a knife and threatened to stab him.
The victim called police on January 10th when his brother again uttered threats to him while holding a knife. Both incidents were unprovoked. The 69-year old victim was not injured.
Police arrested the 66-year old Southgate man who was transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment pending a bail hearing scheduled for January 11, 2018.
The accused is charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon and two counts of Utter Death Threats.
