37 Year Old Caught Going 100 Over Speed Limit – Vehicle Impounded

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Traffic enforcement is an ongoing responsibility for police. Although the majority of drivers understand the importance of road safety, members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to find dangerous drivers on our road ways.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., on January 24, 2018, a member of the Perth County OPP observed a motor vehicle travelling almost 100 kilometres over the posted speed limit in the Township of Perth East. The driver was stopped on Perth Line 43 and charged.

Thirty-seven-year-old Lennart NACKE of Waterloo was charged with race a motor vehicle-excessive speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. His driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle has been impounded for seven days. The driver is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to speak to the charge.

Speed has been identified as a key risk factor in traffic injuries
