(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 32-year-old male from Central Huron with a number of criminal charges following a traffic stop that took place in Goderich last Friday.
On Friday, February 23, 2018 Huron OPP Officers were on the lookout for a male that was believed to be breaching terms of his release from court. At 12:01 p.m. a Huron OPP officer spotted the accused operating his vehicle on Elgin Avenue in Goderich. Upon speaking with the male driver it was confirmed the driver was failing to comply with a condition of his recognizance of bail.
Consequently the driver was taken into custody and was searched incident to arrest. Upon searching the male police found the male to be in possession of small quantities of suspected oxycodone, hydromorphone, morphine and methamphetamine.
Further checks on the male determined the male was failing to comply with a condition of his probation orders.
Mathew SCHRAEDER, 32 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 counts), Fail to Comply with Probation (2 counts) and Possession of a Schedule I Substance (4 counts). He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 5, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
