(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On March 24, 2018 at approximately 5:02 p.m. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a Mercedes vehicle that was travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on Highway 6 near Southgate Road 24 in the Township of Southgate. The cruiser’s radar registered the vehicle’s speed at 144 km/h.
43-year old Michael SCHEDEWITZ of Cambridge was issued a Part III Summons for racing – speeding more than 50 km/hr over the posted 80 km/hr speed limit under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
He was given a 7-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on April 16, 2018.
