Drug Bust

(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – On March 27, 2018, members of the Chippewas of The Thames First Nation Police Service, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Region (WR) OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at a property on Melbourne Road.

As a result of this search warrant, a male was arrested at scene and is facing multiple charges. Upon the execution of the warrant, police seized offence related property including:

Cannabis

Cannabis Edibles

Cannabis Concentrates (Shatter, Hashish, Resin)

Firearm

Assortment of Prohibited Weapons.

As a result of this police investigation, a 43-year-old male, from London, ON., has been arrested and charged pursuant to the CDSA and the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) with:

Public Mischief

Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon at Unauthorized Place x 4

Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking -over 3 kg

Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg x 7

The accused was held in custody and will appear in a London court on March 28, 2018.
