(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On April 24, 2017 at approximately 7:05 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a sedan travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar over 135km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
35-year-old Joshua WATERS of Burlington has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court at a later date. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
