(PERTH SOUTH, ON) – A motor vehicle collision which occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. on April 23, 2018 has resulted in one fatality.
Perth Road 130 at Perth Line 32 in the Township of Perth South was closed for several hours following the collision involving a car and a transport truck. The road has since been re-opened.
Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services and Perth East Fire Department responded to the scene. The two vehicle occupants were transported to hospital via air ambulance. Eighty-one-year old Elizabeth HIBBERT of the Town of St. Marys was later pronounced deceased in hospital. The second occupant of the car remains in hospital at this time.
The transport truck driver was assessed at the scene by paramedics.
The OPP Technical Collision Investigation Unit attended to assist. As a result of the investigation, charges are not anticipated.
