Firearm Missing – Stolen Pickup Truck Set On Fire

(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of a (black) 2006 Dodge Ram pick-up taken from a residence at Cameron Drive between 10:00 p.m. on May 14 and 6:00 a.m. on May 15, 2018. The vehicle was located by police on Neywash Drive on May 15 at 8:59 a.m. The vehicle had been set on fire by unknown suspect(s) and was completely destroyed.

Police have public safety concerns after the vehicle owner reported that he had stored his Winchester lever action 22 calibre rifle under the seat. It had been secured with a cable lock around the lever, and inside of a black soft nylon case with zipper enclosure. After an examination of the vehicle no firearm was located. It is believed that the firearm was removed by and is possession of the unknown suspect(s).
