Barrie Police received numerous calls about a car that struck 2 hydro poles on Georgian Drive after midnight. This single vehicle accident caused live wires to be down on the roadway. Power Stream was on scene and continues to be to repair the damages in that area.
WItnesses advised police that it appeared the male driver was speeding too fast for the wet road conditions and lost control of his vehicle. Investigating officers arrested the 23 year old local man and he was taken to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for non life threatening injuries. He was charged criminally with Dangerous Driving and released with a future court date in December 2013. He was cleared medically by the emergency physician.
