Patrick Shawn NINHAM – Drunk Driving, Breach, Drugs, Break In Tools, etc

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On May 23, 2018, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol in Komoka, Municipality of Middlesex Centre. The officer observed a sports utility vehicle (SUV) and trailer and initiated a commercial motor vehicle investigation and inspection of the vehicle.

Upon speaking to the driver, the officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. The officer also determined that the driver was a Disqualified Driver as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and that the attached trailer had been reported stolen to the Woodstock Police Service on May 8, 2018.

As a result of the police investigation, 48-year-old male, Patrick Shawn NINHAM, of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, Ontario has been charged with the following offences pursuant to the CC and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):

CC 253(1)(a) Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol)

CC 254(5) Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample 254(3) alcohol/blood

CC 259(4) Driving while Disqualified – court order

CC 351(1) Possession Break In Instruments

CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

CC 145(3) Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule II substance-Cannabis Marihuana – over 30 grams

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in a London court room on May 24, 2018 to answer to the charges.
