The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant.
On November 22, 2013 around 2:30 p.m. the woman entered Sears on King Street West in Chatham. It is alleged that the woman entered the store not wearing a coat, however exited wearing a winter jacket. The woman was observed leaving the store making no attempt to pay for the coat valued at $200. Employees tried to stop the woman however she fled the area on a bicycle. Through investigation the woman was identified and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, the 23-year-old Chatham woman was located in the area of Park Street in Chatham and she was arrested for theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released with conditions pending a future court date of December 3, 2013.
