(Goderich, ON) On December 4, 2010 at approximately 2:00 am, a Huron OPP officer was patrolling the Square in Goderich when a vehicle caught the officers’ attention. The officer stopped the vehicle to check on the driver and immediately detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the drivers’ breath. The officer obtained the grounds and made a demand for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath. The driver complied but failed his test. He was then arrested and taken to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. The results confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level that was above the legal limit of 80 milligrams.
As a result of the traffic stop, Raymond ULLRICH (22) of Hammondsport, New York has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on December 6, 2010 due to his citizenship.
