(Howick, ON) On December 10, 2010 at 5:30 pm, a Huron OPP officer was investigating a recovered stolen pickup truck at the rear entrance to the Maitland Conservation Authority building in Wroxeter when a young male was observed walking towards the truck until he spotted police and froze. The young male then attempted to turn around and walk away but he was stopped and spoken to by police.
While speaking with the male, the officer observed that the young man had keys in his hand which turned out to belong to the truck. The male was arrested and searched. While searching the prisoner, the officer located a quantity of suspected Cannabis Marihuana.
Stolen items were also located inside the stolen truck.
As a result of the investigation, a 15 year old Howick Township male is now facing two counts of Break and Enter, one count of Theft Over $5,000 Motor Vehicle, one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He will answer to his charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Youth Court on March 10, 2011.
