The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on outstanding warrants.
In May 2013, the man offered to build a fence and deck for a Chatham woman. The man stated that he needed $3000 upfront to buy all the materials. The man took the woman’s money and failed to complete or even start the job. Attempts were made to locate the man, however when unsuccessful, a warrant for fraud under $5000 was issued for his arrest.
Also, during this same month, the man convinced a 19-year-old Camden Township woman to withdraw $240 from her account in return for a cheque as he could not wait for the bank to process it. When the woman went to cash the cheque, the bank denied the transaction due to improper endorsement. A warrant was subsequently issued for the man for the offences of fraud under $5000, uttering a forged document, false pretences and forgery.
Yesterday morning, the man turned himself in to police headquarters. Zachary Hunt, 30 years, of Dougall Avenue in Windsor was released pending a future court date.
