The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a traffic stop in Chatham early this morning.
On October 22, 2013 the man was released from custody with conditions to reside at a specific address in London and to obey a curfew of 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily. On September 10, 2013 entered into a Probation Order also with the same curfew condition.
Around 12:30 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol in Chatham observed the man riding a bicycle with no lights on Grand Avenue West near Woods Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the man identified himself verbally. Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was lying about his identity and he was arrested.
The 19-year-old Chatham man has been charged with obstructing a peace officer, failing to comply x2 and breaching his Probation Order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
