SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Tuesday December 17, 2013, around 3:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on patrol along St. David Street in Mitchell when they observed a Dodge Neon without headlights activated.

The Neon drove past the OPP cruiser and made a quick turn onto Trafalgar Street, abruptly parking at a residence. Police stopped the male driver who was walking away from the vehicle while a second male was located inside.

The driver was found to be suspended from driving, breaching a probation order, and was in possession of stolen property as well as a schedule I drug. The male passenger resisted arrest when officers were dealing with him. He was found to be breaching a probation order, was in possession of stolen property, and had break-in tools in his possession.

Trevor LADD (30) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with “driving while under suspension”, “possession of property under $5,000”, “fail to comply with probation order”, and “possession of a schedule I substance”. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on Friday December 20, 2013 to answer to these charges.

Joseph CLUETT (18) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with “possession of property under $5,000”, “resist peace officer”, “possession of break in instruments”, and “fail to comply with disposition”. He remains in custody until December 30, 2013, when he is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court to answer to these charges.
