$1.2 Million Drug Bust

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 18, 2013 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit and Wellington County OPP officers including Canine and the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Watson Road in Puslinch Township, Wellington County.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police revealed a large, indoor cannabis marihuana processing location. Police seized cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin (liquid), cannabis resin (solid), and oxycodone pills. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $1,203,053.00.

Police also seized offence related property that consisted of trafficking equipment, a vehicle, a tractor, and Canadian currency. The combined estimated value of the offence related property is $29,000.00.

Donald GILBERT aged 49 of Puslinch Township was arrested and charged with Possession of Marihuana for the Purposes of Trafficking, Possession of Cannabis Resin (solid and liquid) for the Purposes of Trafficking and Possession of Oxycodone Pills contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

GILBERT was held in custody for a bail hearing on the above listed charges.
