Chad Hackett – No Ignition Interlock, Drunk Driving, Young Driving BAC Over Zero, Open Alcohol

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – On December 31, 2010 Huron OPP officers set up a RIDE check in Exeter. At approximately 11:15 pm a vehicle was observed driving aggressively toward the checkpoint. The vehicle was stopped and upon speaking to the driver, the officer determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken to the Exeter OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. The results of the tests confirmed that the driver had over two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

As a result of the stop, Chad HACKETT (21) of South Huron has been charged with one count of Impaired Driving, one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, one count of Young Driver B.A.C. Above Zero, one count of Drive With Open Container of Alcohol and one count of Drive Motor Vehicle Not Equipped With Approved Ignition Interlock Device. He will answer to his charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on April 14, 2011. The vehicle he was driving was impounded for 7 days and his licence was suspended for 90 days
