(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday December 28, 2013, shortly after 4 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a collision on Perth Road 131 at Line 76.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a Pontiac Grand Prix had been driven south bound on Perth Road 131 at Line 76, there the road is closed due to construction work at the Smith Creek Bridge. The Pontiac drove into two large road closed signs, completely destroying them before coming to rest in the west ditch. The impact caused one of the signs, which is fixed to a trailer, to become inseparable from the Pontiac. This resulted in the car and sign being towed away together.
The 65 year old male driver, a resident of the Township of Perth East did not sustain injuries as a result of this collision. The 65 year old female passenger a Township of Perth East resident sustained minimal injuries. The driver has been charged with careless driving.
