OPP DRUG WARRANT EXECUTED

(NEYAASHIINIGMIING FIRST NATION, ON) – On Monday, December 30th, 2013, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), with the assistance of the Cape Croker Police Service, Bruce Peninsula OPP and the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on Maadookii Subdivision, Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation (previously known as Cape Croker First Nation).

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cannabis marihuana, psilocybin, cannabis resin, oxycodone pills and offence related property that consisted of drug trafficking paraphernalia. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances was $4,725.50. Police also seized firearms, crossbows, and ammunition.

Blythe KEESHIG (25) of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation is charged with possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of psilocybin for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis resin, possession of oxycodone, breach firearms regulations x2, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of firearms while prohibited x4.

Jonathan KEESHIG (25) of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation is charged with possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of psilocybin for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis resin, possession of oxycodone, breach firearms regulations x2, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Joshua KING (25) of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation is charged with possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of psilocybin for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis resin, possession of oxycodone, breach firearms regulations x2, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Olivia STEVENS (21) of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation is charged with possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of psilocybin for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis resin, possession of oxycodone, breach firearms regulations x2, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

An arrest warrant will be sought for another Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation resident for possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of psilocybin for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis resin, possession of oxycodone, breach firearms regulations x2, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The arrested parties were held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
