Barrie Police responded to a call for suspicious person in the area of Victoria Street. The investigating officers located a very drunken female who was in front of a building and appeared to be trying to get into the building, however she did not reside there. The 41 year old local woman was dressed for the weather, however was unsteady on her feet and was not in a position to care for herself. She was arrested for her own safety and taken into custody where she would be warm and safe for the night until she was in a sober condition in the morning. She will be released with a Provincial Offences fine to pay.
