Stop Signs Stolen

(BROCKTON, ON) – On January 15th, 2011 at 8:38 am, the South Bruce OPP received a call from the Brockton Roads department reporting a number of missing stop signs.

Sometime during the evening of January 14th, 2011 or the early morning hours of January 15th, 2011 the stop signs from the intersection of Concession 8 and Side road 10, Brant Township along with a number of stop signs on Concession 10, Greenock Township, west of Cargill, were removed.

The Brockton Roads department has since replaced the signs, but the South Bruce OPP wants all residents to be aware that tampering with or removing traffic control devices is a criminal offence.

Removing a stop sign can easily lead to a collision causing serious injury or death. Anyone with information on these acts of mischief endangering life is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
