On January 8th 2014 at approximately 10:00 a.m., a resident of 272 Clyde Road noted smoke and heat in an upstairs room of his apartment and investigated with the superintendent. They located smoke above the residence and immediately evacuated the building and contacted the Cambridge Fire Department. Fire crews determined that electrical wiring had faulted in the attic of the building and had destroyed some of the beams for the roof. Firefighters were able to suppress the smoldering and returned all residents back to their apartments around 11:30 a.m. Cambridge Fire investigators continue to monitor the scene and estimate the damage at $100,000. There are no injuries to any of the residents.
