MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Friday January 21, 2011 shortly before 11 a.m. Perth County OPP officers were called to a 3 vehicle collision at the intersection of Hwy. 23 and Line 36 north of Mitchell.
Investigation revealed the following, a blue SUV operated by a 45 year old female from West Perth was being driven north on Hwy. 23. The SUV driver attempted to make a right turn on Line 36 but slid past the intersection due to the slick road conditions. The SUV driver subsequently reversed to try and get back to Line 36. A north bound Hydro truck driven by a 26 year old male from North Perth was following the SUV. As the SUV reversed the Hydro truck driver was unable to stop and avoid the reversing SUV. The hydro truck struck the left rear corner of the SUV and also struck the left front corner of a south bound farm tractor on Hwy 23 which was getting ready to make an east bound turn onto Line 36. The farm tractor was being operated by a 31 year old male from the Township of Perth South.
None of the drivers involved sustained any injuries as a result of this collision.
The Perth County OPP is continuing to investigate this collision.
The usual reminder applies, “adjust your speed to the road conditionsâ€.
