On January 10th at approximately 6:07 a.m., police received a call advising there was a male damaging property at a parking facility located on Ontario Street North in the city of Kitchener. Police responded and upon arrival, located the male who was brandishing a knife. The male was taken into custody at gunpoint without further incident. A 27 year old male from Waterloo was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, Possession of Weapons Dangerous to the Public, Uttering Threats and Mischief Under $5000. He was held in custody pending the outcome of a show cause hearing.
