Snowmobile Fails To Yield To Traffic – HIt By Car

(SOUTH HURON, ON) A second snowmobiler should be counting his lucky stars after being involved in a collision with a car on Parr Line. The collision occurred on January 23, 2011 at approximately 4:30 pm. Once again, a snowmobiler was approaching a through road from an open field and the driver crossed up onto the roadway without stopping and without regard for traffic on the road. The snowmobiler was struck on the side by a car travelling on Parr Line. The driver of the snowmobile was catapulted up onto the car and rolled off the side. The snowmobile driver was taken to the South Huron Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The 19 year old South Huron male is facing a charge of Careless Driving. The driver of the car was not injured.

Two collisions involving very similar circumstances should be a learning opportunity for all snowmobiler drivers. Even a momentary lapse in attention could have devastating consequences. Luckily these two males will survive these crashes and hopefully they will change their riding ways in the future.
