Pickup Truck Stolen/Switched

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Saturday night, January 29, 2011, shortly after 9 p.m., a resident of Line 26 south west of Mitchell was alerted by his barking dog. The resident looked out the window and saw an unknown pickup truck leaving his driveway. He heard his own pickup truck start and someone was driving it towards the road. The pickup truck owner got into his other vehicle and attempted to follow his stolen truck.

The owner located the first pickup truck stuck in deep snow abandoned on Road 170 since it is a “no winter maintenance” road. The driver of the first pickup truck had jumped in with the driver of the victims 4 wheel drive pickup truck which was able to drive Road 170 to Hwy. 8 where it left in a west bound direction.

Investigation revealed that the first pickup truck, a 1998 black Ford F150 pickup truck had been stolen from the Brussels area on December 8, 2010.

The newly stolen truck from Line 26 is a 2007 Dodge black Rover 4×4 with a roll topper Mega cab. The vehicle has Ontario licence plates 3146FB attached. The truck VIN # is 3D7KS29A17G829701. The truck had been left unlocked and the keys were inside.
