Man Charged with Impaired Driving

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving early this morning in Blenheim.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. a resident on Cundle Line awoke to the sound of a truck revving its engine and spinning its tires. The resident looked out the window and observed a truck stuck in deep snow. Police were called and attended the area. Officers located the driver sitting in his vehicle which was still running. Through investigation, the officer believed that the driver was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

A 55-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He remains in police custody this morning.
