The Chatham-Kent police would like to warn everyone about a fraudulent email.
Yesterday, a citizen reported that he had received an email stating that he had to appear in New York for a scheduled hearing in court. The man was advised to bring all related documents and witnesses. The copy of the court notice was sent as an attachment and he was asked to read it thoroughly.
This email appears to have been sent randomly and should be considered dangerous to your computer should you open the attachment. Never click on a link or open an attachment from an unknown source. You could unknowingly compromise your computer with a virus. We encourage those receiving this email to please delete it.
