Single car collision

On January 26, 2014 at 12:49 p.m., the Guelph Police attended to Scottsdale Drive for a single car collision. It is alleged that an 87-year-old Guelph male driver was operating his vehicle northbound on Scottsdale Drive. The driver attempted to make a left turn onto Cole Road going off the roadway, mounting the snow bank and struck a cement light pole. The light pole was sheared off at its base and came down on top of the vehicle. The driver was not injured and total damage is estimated to be in the area of $7,000.
