Waterloo Region, Ontario – On January 26, 2014 at approximately 8:15 p.m., a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian occurred on Arthur St. North just south of Reid Woods Drive in the Township of Woolwich.
A 35 year old Elmira woman was walking southbound on the shoulder of Arthur Street when she was struck by a 2002 Honda Accord traveling in the same direction.
The victim was treated at the scene by emergency crews but succumbed to her injuries.
Police have notified the family and have identified the deceased as Miriam BAUMAN of Elmira.
The driver of the Honda, Scott Albert RICHARDS, 40 years, of Kitchener, was charged with Dangerous Driving. He was not injured in the collision.
Members of the Traffic Services Branch continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
