(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has closed highway 6 from Hepworth to Wiarton as another powerful winter storm passes through the area.
All of highway 6 now from Hepworth to Tobermory closed
All roads are considered closed on the Bruce Peninsula
The closures are in effect due to strong winds, blowing snow and poor to no visibility. .
The penalty for driving on a closed highway is a $110 fine and 3 demerit points, but the consequences can be far worse if you become involved in a collision, or stranded, in a white out.
The Bruce Peninsula OPP is currently dealing with periods of complete white out conditions. Police are urging motorists to not travel on the roads at this time.
