Last year the total number of pick-ups and SUV’s stolen in Guelph was 16 and 3 were attempted. Of the 16 stolen, only 4 have been recovered. This year we have had 3 stolen pickups so far. GM models appear to be the most sought after by thieves and most thefts are occurring between 2:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Typically these types of thefts occur at factories, as well as hotels, theatres, shopping centres and universities. This pattern is consistent across Southwestern Ontario.
