24 Year Old From Chatsworth Caught Going 130 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On Thursday June 7, 2018, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 12, south-east of Drayton. The officer observed a male driving a newer model black sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 50 km/h.

24-year-old Matthew Robert NEERHOF of Chatsworth has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on August 1, 2018. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
