(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – On February 15th, 2011 at 2:07 pm, the South Bruce OPP received a complaint regarding an attempted email scam from an elderly resident of the Municipality of Kincardine. An email was received from “Mike Brough of London, Ontario†requesting $1,800 to help him get back from the United Kingdom. The email was identified as a scam and no money was sent.
The South Bruce OPP is alerting all residents to be ware of this email scam. “Scammers are coming up with creative ways to separate you from your money, generally using technology. It’s up to you how you spend your money, but don’t support a con artistâ€.
